About Nia Ent. / Jimi Hendrix
Introducing the musical journey chronicling the extraordinary
relationship between the Aleem twins and Jimi Hendrix. Rooted in the
vibrant streets of Harlem, this friendship flourished even as Jimi
ascended to international stardom. From this unique bond emerged a
profound collaboration, giving birth to a musical legacy that
celebrates the enduring magic of Jimi Hendrix and the indelible mark
left by the Aleem twins.
Inspired by Jimi's guidance, the twins embarked on a musical
venture, contributing background vocals to Jimi's timeless classics
such as "Dolly Dagger," "Freedom," "Stepping Stone," and "Izabella."
In a reciprocal exchange of creative energy, Jimi showcased his
progressive electric guitar skills on the twins' recording of "Mojo
Man" at Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
This collaboration extended beyond the confines of studio sessions;
it was part of a grander plan. Jimi envisioned co-producing what he
affectionately termed a "street opera" – an album that encapsulated
the fusion of talents, capturing the essence of their shared musical
vision.
The Aleem twins played a pivotal role in preserving Jimi Hendrix's
posthumous legacy. Their voices adorned at least four albums: "Cry
of Love" (1971 - Platinum), "Rainbow Bridge" (1971 - Gold), "War
Heroes" (1972), and "First Rays of the New Rising Sun" (1997), as
well as "People, Hell and Angels" (2013).
Their harmonies resonated on compilation albums like "Experience
Hendrix: The Best of Jimi Hendrix" (1997 - Double Platinum), "The
Jimi Hendrix Experience (Purple Box Set)" (2000 - Platinum), and
"Voodoo Child: The Jimi Hendrix Collection" (2001 - Gold). Join us
on this musical odyssey as we honor the enduring friendship and
collaborative spirit that defined the relationship between the Aleem
twins and Jimi Hendrix.
